Another East Village find–

My friend, Ruby, attends SVA and she visited me in the East Village. We were both hungry for a snack and wanted a quick stop. Immediately, the sign outside caught our attention. It read “Icing Shots- $1 each”. How interesting… I ordered a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese and LOVED it. I forgot what Ruby ordered but she loved it as well. Note–she doesn’t usually love cupcakes. I had a glass of milk on the side, of course.

Bush-Comedown

Lately, I have been watching the movie Fear wayyyy too many times. I’m not really sure why. It’s just a rather entertaining 90s movie with a killer 90s soundtrack. As a result, Bush’s song Comedown has been ringing in my ears constantly and I just can’t stop humming it in the morning and night. It’ll probably fade out by next week. We’ll see what happens.

A-1 Records

Another great place to check out in the East Village is A-1 Records. I was on the hunt to find David Bowie’s Low on vinyl (one of my favorite albums of all time). Not that it’s really a rare find or anything but I just had to have it. I grabbed that and a few others, including Fleetwood Mac and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The selection at A-1 Records is somewhat decent. Lots of soul rock, jazz, and 80s music.

I Coppi

The other night while I was venturing out in the East Village I ran into this lovely little place called I Coppi. It’s an Italian restaurant with a beautiful back area featuring a garden. Unfortunately, when I made a reservation I wasn’t seated outside but, still, I enjoyed my time dining there. I went with two of my friends and I ordered a pizza. I know what you’re thinking. Why a pizza?! Well, as it turns out, they have amazing pizza. If you’re ever feeling like a bit of Italian food in the East Village definitely hit this place up. Great atmosphere, nice staff.

Dating in the Dark

I’m not sure if any of you have seen the new trailer for the ABC show that will be premiering soon. It’s titled Dating in the Dark. If you ask me, it looks like the concept is more exciting than the show. I don’t think I’ll be watching. I mean…come on. It does sound really freaky. Rolling eyes? I think yes.
